Hospitality spaces in coastal European regions often require architectural solutions that can adapt to changing weather conditions while preserving openness, aesthetics, and guest experience. Installed at the ground level outdoor dining area of Ristorante Del Posto at Grand Hotel Slavia, Croatia, this motorised glass retractable roof was designed to create a luxurious all season restaurant environment. Croatia experiences varying coastal weather conditions throughout the year, including rain, wind, and colder temperatures during seasonal transitions, making flexible weather protection essential for uninterrupted outdoor hospitality operations.
Luxury Outdoor Dining with Year Round Comfort
The outdoor dining space at the restaurant offered an excellent open air experience with scenic surroundings, but exposure to changing coastal weather conditions limited year round usability. The objective was to create a system that would maintain transparency, natural light, and visual openness while providing reliable protection from rain, wind, and external environmental conditions. A motorised glass retractable roofing system was selected to achieve this balance between architectural elegance and functional performance.
